🔒 Privacy Policy – URL Short Pro
Last updated: October 2025
Thank you for using URL Short Pro.
Your privacy is very important to us. This policy explains how our Microsoft Edge extension handles your information.
🧩 1. Information Collection
URL Short Pro does not collect, store, or share any personal information from users.
The extension only connects to the 7URL API to create shortened URLs based on the link you provide.
- No personal data (such as name, email, or location) is collected.
- No browsing history, cookies, or tracking information is stored.
- We do not sell, rent, or share user data with anyone.
🌐 2. How the Extension Works
When you paste a URL or use the context menu (“Shorten Link and Copy”),
the extension sends a simple request to the 7URL API service:
POST https://7url.in/api/v1/links
Only the original long URL is transmitted to generate a short link.
The response includes a shortened URL which is displayed locally on your browser.
No information is stored on our servers beyond this API communication.
🔐 3. Password-Protected Links
If you use the “Shorten with Password” feature, the password you enter is directly sent to the API for encryption and short link creation.
The extension does not store or view this password — it only acts as a bridge between your browser and the 7URL API.
📁 4. Local Data Storage
All your shortened links and history are stored locally in your browser’s local storage.
You can delete them anytime using the Clear button inside the extension popup.
🧰 5. Permissions Used
The extension requests the following permissions:
clipboardWrite– to copy shortened URLs directly.contextMenus– to add the right-click shortcut “Shorten Link and Copy.”storage– to save your local history.
No permission is used to collect or transmit user identity or personal data.
